Hey lovelies, now that summer is almost over and fall is rapidly closing in on us…well in November for me….I wanted to get a head start on some cool pieces to add to my closet. First off…..I love unique ,out of the box, head turning pieces and Marigold Shadows was all that and more. I love trying new styles and when I saw this online store all over my timeline, I knew that I had to get in on the action. What resonated most for me, was their wide selection of black pieces, and you guys already know that black is my favorite color. Not only are the pieces unique, but they are trendy and of great quality. Who doesn’t love affordable Avant-Garde clothing???
Marigold Shadows was established in 2014 in California, with most of their clothing shipping out of San Diego. Some of their pieces ranges from basic tees to affordable avant-garde clothing for the more adventurous fashionistas. Most of the pieces are a one size fit all but more sizes are being added, plus there is a 30-day refund policy. What makes Marigold Shadows stand out even more for me is that some pieces are made to order. I love this brand’s aesthetic, with the bold, monochromatic, edgy, and layered look.
Sometimes I break out of the status-quo in fashion and dress how I want to or how I feel. This is also a lesson to some people out there who are feeling judge by others as it relates to their style. There is no right or wrong with your style. Your style is personal, it’s who you are and how you choose to tell your story through fashion. It’s okay to use others for inspiration but don’t try to be like them, just be you. I will now get off my soapbox (that’s for another time, lol) and tell you guys about these two affordable avant-garde looks that I am in love with.
This knee-length layered ruffle dress, which is made out of soft tweed and vegan leather wowed me. This affordable avant-garde look was my first choice because it still brought that girly look with the ruffles. The detailing of the ruffles and sleeves gives this dress an elegant and chic look. The material is a bit heavy so this is perfect for fall/winter and can be worn with boots/booties or even a pair of sneakers if you are going for a more casual look.
In my second and last look, I wanted something more edgy and street. I chose this two-piece layered dress, which can be worn alone as a shirt-dress or with the black smock that accompanies it. So, you have a two-fer affordable avant-garde look for under $70….it doesn’t get any better than that!!! What I really love about this piece are the side buckles (which are more like clips) and the hoodie, which gives it that street vibe look that I was going for.
I hope you guys enjoyed both looks and I am looking forward to hearing from you. Peace and Love!!!!!
Hey hunneebee! Finally getting a chance to check out your blog. I am loving it and can’t wait to see where the journey will take you! XOXOXO
