To say that there will be no Summer 2020 would be shocking if someone had told me this in January. It’s like the entire world was at a standstill and no one had the answer. Between the racial divide, Covid19, and unjust killings of blacks etc…. I was looking forward to just getting away to clear my mind. My hotel was booked since December 2019 and airline tickets purchase in January 2020, yeah!!!

Little did I know, that I would be right at home here in Florida dreaming about the great time that awaited me in Barbados. At this moment, I was supposed to be hanging with my fam, lying on the beach in my summer maxi caftan, going into the City and Oistins, sipping on some rum punch (without the rum) and so on, so on. Planning is great but life have a funny way of showing us different, so I just had to go with the flow….

Growing up in Barbados, I’ve always heard my mother say “if you don’t have a horse, ride a cow” and that’s exactly that I did. Since the trip was canceled, we just did a staycation at Caribe Royale resort in Orlando, FL. It was the closest I could get to that island feeling I love so much. In tune with the island vibes came this amazing maxi caftan, which is the perfect look for summer.
