How To Style A Maxi Blouse For Any Occasion

FASHION | 0 comments

I am in love with maxi dresses and with summer around the corner, it’s going to be litty!!! Anyhow, this post is not about the maxi dress (that post is coming soon)…but it’s about how to style a maxi blouse for any occasion. Have you guys ever heard of a maxi blouse? If you haven’t, me either. It’s only when I walked into NY&Co last year and saw this amazing floral blouse that I couldn’t resist the urge to buy it. The maxi blouse is somewhat like a kimono, except it doesn’t open up in the front. The name alone describes it…..maxi blouse.

What I love most about this maxi blouse is the print, which screams vacation, summer, and spring vibes. Some other features that I also loved were the side slits and twisted front. The twisted front added a somewhat slimming effect to the waistline. If you are asking on how to style a maxi blouse…no worries mon (in my fake Jamaican accent) I got you!!!!! You can wear it with distressed denim shorts, leggings or skinny jeans and a pair of sneakers or sandals for a more casual look. It can also be worn as an elegant and classy piece, with some heels and wide-leg pants. Don’t be afraid to play with different textures or prints when styling a piece like this. You can go for a monochrome/matchy, matchy look or pops of color depending on your mood or the season.

The maxi blouse is very versatile and can be worn many different ways. In my case, I decided to go for a classy and chic look, which can be worn to a date night, event, or dinner. I paired the blouse with faux leather ankle pants and added a belt to give an even more slimmer silhouette. A pair of heels gave me the extra height I needed (because I am actually short, lol) and I topped off the look with a simple clutch. I kept the accessories to a minimum because I wanted the focus to be on the blouse……mission accomplished!!!
